G. LOOMIS GL2 7`6` 4 Wt. Evergreen 2 pc. Fly Rod
If you`re drawn to the intimate confines of smaller streams, this is a great little rod for casting small flies, and even some streamers, in tight spaces. It`s also a nice tool for hitting the nearby bluegill pond. An ideal starter rod that provides a quality graphite rod, with the performance that will help you become a fly fishing pro in no time.
It is sometimes recommended that less experienced fly anglers use a line one weight heavier than normal to make their rod easier to cast. G-Loomis thinks a rod should be easy to cast, right from the start, with the line for which it`s designed. And that`s what you will experience with the GL2s. Because they are designed to be smooth and easy to cast from the get-go, the GL2s load easily with their rated line size, especially the shorter-belly introductory fly lines. They feel great whether you are making short or long casts thanks to the Progressive Power taper. And their medium-soft feel, combined with a fast action, allows them to generate plenty of line speed, as well as nice, clean line loops. The GL2s are quite light, yet extremely durable-another bonus during those first forays into the fly world. If you`re just beginning to become addicted to fly fishing, or you want a precision graphite rod for occasional use, you can`t go wrong with a GL2.

*Rod action refers to the flex characteristics of a rod, varying from Slow to Extra-Fast. An Extra-Fast action rod flexes mainly at the tip. Slower (or softer) action rods flex throughout the entire length of the rod. Moderate action falls in between.
| *Power is resistance to flex or how much each specific rod bends under a load. Generally speaking, the heavier your choice of line and lure, the higher the power rating you`ll need.
