TRAPEZOID BOX BAFFLES-
Expedition bags utilize two special structural configurations to ensure maximum warmth and comfort. First, the bags utilize a special trapezoidal baffle system, where adjacent trapezoid-shaped baffles are positioned with their parallel sides opposite one another. This configuration ensures a constant baffle volume, keeping down in place and preventing cold spots. Second, Expedition bags add a special box boffle in areas especially vulnerable to cold -the sides of the bag in the core torso area and footbox. These added baffles provide additional loft, ensure vital down stays put and, consequently, offer added warmth.
ANTI-COMPRESSION PADS-
In order to provide added comfort for the head, shoulders, and feet, we replace compressible down in those high-pressure areas with thin strips of synthetic Polarguard 3D. These anti-compression pads provide essential support and warmth and improve thermal efficiency by an astounding 13%, ensuring a warmer, more comfortable experience.
VAULTED FOOTBOX-
No longer are feet relegated to being cold and cramped. The North Face innovative vaulted footbox provides sufficient space to allow the feet to flex and move naturally. This eliminates dead air space and keeps feet warmer and more comfortable.
