Welded Layer Construction -
The unique nature of Thermic CF synthetic insulation, with its continuous filament construction, allows Mountain Hardwear to durably stabilize the insulation by intermittently welding the top and bottom layers of insulation to the sheel and lining. This construction produces a consistent loft over the entire bag without any sewn through areas that can compress loft. The result is a soft and lofty bag that can withstand repeated washings and compression cycles.
40D Nylong Ripstop Shell -
40D/310T nylon taffeta. The high density thread count provides a fabric that is downproof by construction and rip resistant.
Thermic CF Insulation -
An exclusive insulation developed for its loft, durability, softness and compressibility. It is constructed from high lofting, hollow, continuous filaments that efficiently trap heat and reduce weight. This creates a durable insulation that can withstand repeated use while dramatically improving softness and overall stuffed volume by 20%. This combination of high-loft and compressibility is achieved through treating the filaments with silicone, which allows the filaments to slide and fill gaps normally left by other insulations when compressed.
50D Polyester Taffeta Lining -
50D/216T Polyester taffeta. The low moisture retention of Polyester (like Polarguard) allows the fabric to dry quickly.
Ergonomic Collar -
Drapes comfortably over the neck and shoulders, sealing out drafts without the need to cinch down the drawcords unless the bag is being used close to its temperature limits. Drawcords are set back away from the neck, ensuring a soft, effective seal.
Face Gasket -
When it`s cold enough to cinch down the hood opening, these tubes create a comfortable seal, keeping warm air in and cold air out.
Tailored Hood -
Since the head is most susceptible to heat loss, an efficient hood can do a lot to improve the overall effectiveness of a bag. Mountain Hardwear`s new shape brings the sides of the hood in close to the neck and face, reducing the need to cinch the hood tight to keep warm. Side-blocked baffles surround the hood, keeping down locked into position.
Comfort Footbox -
Formerly found only on Mountain Hardwear`s expedition bags, this complex footbox is shaped to allow feet to rest naturally, angled out slightly with toes pointing. The shape helps preserve loft and allows the down to drape closer to the feet, increasing warmth. Multiple baffles keep the down evenly distributed around the footbox.
Quantum Expander -
Often copied, but never equaled, this Mountain Hardwear innovation lets users to tailor the fit of the bag to the conditions of their personal preferences. Zip open the Quantum Expander panel to instantly add 8` of girth to the bag. The panel is fully insulated, so it doesn`t create a cold spot, but it does make the bag roomier and airier to allow comfortable sleeping in warmer conditions. Zip the panel closed to return the bag to its snug, efficient mummy shape.
