While it is slightly less breathable than Gore-Tex laminates it is extremely waterproof, and can be counted on as a dependable protective outer layer. This combination of high waterproofness and breathability makes it ideal for keeping the elements out. The insulation offers a great warmth to weight ratio, is highly compressible and extremely durable.

Heatshield Optimal Technology (H.O.T.)
The North Face proprietary synthetic insulation offers a great warmth to weight ratio, is highly compressible and extremely durable. 100% polyester hollow core fibers increase thermal efficiency. Variations in fiber thickness provide softness and high loft.
