The North Face Winter Grip
The North Face Winter Grip is a softer, tackier rubber compound designed specifically to provide ample traction in the wettest and foul weather conditions. Used in connection with winter-specific outsole designs with multi-directional lugs and substantial contact area. TNF Winter Grip is a perfect fit in snow-based environments.
Primaloft Insulation
PrimaLoft is a patented ultrafine mocrofiber blend that is incredibly soft, lightweight and water repellent. PrimaLoft synthetic insulation absorbs three times less water, is 15% warmer when dry, and is 24% warmer when wet than the closest competitive insulation. In addition to these impressive thermal properties, PrimaLoft is lightweight with a down like softness that adds comfort and appeal.
AgION Anti-microbial Footbed
AgION anti-microbial silver agent woven into the top sheet of the footbed inhibits the growth of odors and disease-causing bacteria.
Gore-Tex
Gore-Tex fabrics lead the industry in providing durably waterproof / breathable protection. The Gore-Tex membrane is completely impervious to rain, sleet and snow, while allowing perspiration to pass through it.
Boa Lacing System
Unlike traditional lacing systems, the carefully engineered Boa system enables minute adjustment for optimum closure force each and every time, and enables simple, on-the-fly adjustment. With the Boa there are simply no pressure points. Instead, it operates like a special suspension system that enables the runner to dial in an even and repeatable tightness.
Ice Storm GTX 400 BOA Technology
This system is unique to this boot and consists of:
- Elongated Lace Guides - these low friction lace guides distribute closure force perfectly
- Lace (49 strands) - Seven strands of aircraft grade stainless steel wire are woven together into small bundles, seven of which are woven together again and covered with a polymer to make a smooth, extremely strong lace
- Reel - When the knob is rotated, the lace is wound onto the spool providing precise and repeatable closure
- 400g Primaloft Insulation - Imbedded in the boot is a strong layer of heat retention primaloft insulation
- Gore-Tex Waterproof, Breathable Membrane - On the inside is a membrane woven into the upper that repels water and lets sweat breathe
- TNF Winter Grip Rubber Outsole - Durable outsole that provides grip on slippery winter surfaces
