The crucial benefits of this novel engineering method are enhanced comfort and improved performance. The Chimney Venting system is based on the elementary physics principle that hot air rises. The strategic placement of stretch mesh in the upper section of the leg gaiter functions as a highly efficient air intake. This StretchVent allows cool dry air to flow in as heated moist air rises and exits upper thigh vents, producing continuous airflow and heat management. In addition, StretchVent doubles as an effective energy absorber, keeping the gaiter in place while the legs do the hard work in the bumps, pipe or backcountry.
