EXTRASPORT Osprey PFD Fishing Vest

Extrasport Osprey: The high-performance comfort of a classic foam/mesh design combined with the benefit of fitting everything an angler needs results in the ultimate fishing PFD.

FEATURES:
  • Front entry vest with dual closure buckle/zipper
  • Baja Back
  • Patented GlideFit foam construction
  • 7 pocket configuration
  • Multiple attachment points
  • Cool mesh shoulders
  • Type III PFD - Floatation Aid
Baja Back Seating Comfort Design
Extrasport created the first PFD with a thinner lower-back section for increased comfort on the seat backs in today`s sit-on tops and rec boats. It caught on immediately - big time. The idea behind our Baja Back is that a thicker upper-back floatation section and thinner lower section keeps the foam off your body, giving you easier movement and greater freedom. In addition, testing in water shows that this design contributes to a better floatation angle and reduces uncomfortable ride-up of the vest while paddling.

GlideFit patented Comfort Construction
This Extrasport innovation ensures a comfortable fit and easier movement during paddle strokes. How? We radically redesigned the foam inserts in most life vests, which are nothing more than a couple of layers of roughly the same size and shape, one just sitting on the other. We found that you get a more comfortable and accommodating fit by placing a smaller outer layer of foam on a larger, thinner layer - so the foam wraps around and conforms to your torso much better. Then we wrap the outer layer with our GlideFit Cartilage, a unique, patented system that allows the panels to glide on each other, even when wet.

PFD stands for PERSONAL FLOATATION DEVICE.
U.S. Coast Guard Regulations require you to have U.S. Coast Guard approved PFDs on your recreational boat. How many and what kind of PFDs you need depends on the number of people onboard, the size of your boat and the kind of boating you will be doing.

    PFD classifications
Personal floatation devices are classified by location of use. Choose the right PFD for the location and type of boating you plan to do.

  • Type I is for offshore operations.
  • Type II is for boating near shore.
  • Type III is a buoyancy aide to be used where rescue situations may be imminent.
  • Type IV is to be thrown to an individual needing immediate assistance.
  • Type V is a specialty PFD for specific activities or consumers.
It`s recommended that children always wear a Type II PFD or higher, even for onshore activities.
