The FreePLAY integrates an ergonomic, 3-D articulated cut for a performance fit that follows your every move. Built of Stohlquist`s proprietary TTL Ecipse, a medium weight 3-layer hydrophobic/hydrophilic shell fabric, formulated for its beefy yet supple hand, and superior waterproof durability. TTL Ecipse has been developed, tested and proven comparable to the most expensive alternatives in performance and waterproof durability. All seams double and triple sewn, taped for waterproof integrity, water tested to 3 psi.

Water is sealed out at neck and wrists with thin yet durable latex rubber seals. Cuff covers offer a backup option for the latex gaskets, additional protection from abrasion, and serve as shields from the effects of the sun. They are assembled with Free-FLOW, self-draining edgings to release trapped moisture before it accumulates. Stretchy neoprene cuffs have Velcro backed neoprene for a full range of adjustment. Titanium neo-outer collar has front zip adjustment.

Inner waist is longer than one might expect. It has a wide, sticky backed neoprene band sewn onto the lower hem. This Gripp-Loc feature keeps it from creeping upwards and locks the hem comfortably in place on the hips. This is drier, and keeps your lower back covered, and water from entering at the hem, while upright or inverted by water in motion inside the kayak.

Outer waistband, together with inner create an `envelope` tunnel. Sprayskirt`s waist tube fits inside. It has extended length so waist tube has full surface contact, for a better water barrier. This envelope blocks flow to the inside of your boat. The outer waistband is wide with a grippy inside surface to minimize shifting, slipping and to seal up the skirt.

The outer waist, has two Velcro adjustments, one at each side to get a good seal in the `envelope`. The adjustment is at the sides to minimize bulk at the stomach where you bend andalso to fit a wide range of waist sizes.

The front pocket has a YKK urethane coated water resistant zipper and drainage at the base to release moisture.

TTL Eclipse Fabric
Countless hours of on-going tests painstakingly performed in various types of waterproof/breathables in the lab and on the water, enable Stohlquist to offer remarkably fine developments we put in our products. Several steps beyond, only the best is achieved by insistence on performance to take discovery to the next level. Stohlquist proprietary `Total Eclipse` fabric measures 20,000-25,000 mm2 of water resistance, meaning there is no chance water will penetrate the fabric. There are two methods we use to measure a fabric`s ability to transport moisture or moisture vapor: the Upright Cup Test (UCT) and the Inverted Cup Method (ICM). UCT measures how much moisture vapor can penetrate a micro-porous laminate or coating, while the ICM is a test of the hydrophilic laminate and measures how much moisture is wicked from the inside of the laminate to the outside of the laminate. Just about every other so-called breathable fabric available performs only one of these tasks, not both at the same time. With a UCT rating of 6,000-7,000 grams/mm2, and an ICM rating of 7,000-8,000 grams/mm2, proprietary `Total Eclipse`incorporates both ratings for maximum breathability, the best of both worlds.

`Total Eclipse` has an oleophobic layer (outermost layer), a micro-porous membrane, and an inner scrim layer, all sandwiched together to create the optimum mix of durability and breathability. The oleophobic layer prevents membrane contamination from the outside elements, and protects the micro-porous membrane, the layer that allows the fabric to breathe. The breathable membrane has billions of pores per square inch, with each pore many times smaller than a water droplet. These tiny holes are too small for water and wind to pass through from the outside, but large enough for moisture vapor to pass, so your body`s perspiration is able to escape and you don`t get clammy and uncomfortable. The inner scrim layer helps in transferring or pulling moisture away from your body.
