Gore-Tex XCR
Gore-Tex XCR provides maximum comfort over an extremely wide range of temperatures and activities due to a high level of breathability. A Gore-Tex membrane is fixed between the outer shell and insulation to produce a windproof, waterproof glove that can keep hands drier and warmer for more extended periods than traditional waterproof breathable barriers.
Northotic Footbed
The Northotic ergonomically designed footbed takes a footwear element normally relegated as an afterthought and infuses it with performance features. The shoe insert may seem trivial - in fact, some inserts are the performance equivalent of corrugated cardboard - but it holds the potential to enhance the athletic experience. The North Face has taken the insert and elevated it to a superior-performance, multi-density footbed with enhanced stability, support, and cushioning.
AgION
AgION anti-microbial silver agent woven into the top sheet of the footbed controls odors.
TNF UltrATAC
TNF UltrATAC traction system is a multi-layer technology that offers maximum under foot comfort and traction.
Layer One: Anti-microbial Implus pads under the heel, and forefoot provide superior shock absorption, reducing the effects of foot and body fatigue. Open cell construction allows air and moisture to circulate through the pads, maintaining a dry, breathable, and slip-resistant surface.
Layer Two: X-2 cushioning inserts in the heel provides high energy return and lightness in every step.
Layer Three: Terrain-specific tread designs and slip-resistant TNF Trail Grip rubber are specifically designed to ensure traction in rock or water-based environments. Herringbone textured TNF Aqua-Grip outsole pods provide extra traction in water-based environments.
X-2 Cushioning
Embedded in EVA midsoles and placed in high impact areas, X-2 Cushioning combines durability, lightness and a high ratio of energy return.
BOA Lacing System
This season, The North Face introduces a first in trail running, the advanced Boa Lacing System on its new Endurus XCR Boa trail-running shoes. Unlike traditional lacing systems, the carefully engineered Boa system enables minute adjustment for optimum closure force each and every time, and enables simple, on-the-fly adjustment. with the Boa system there are simply no pressure points. Instead, it operates like a special suspention system that enables the runner to dial in an even and repeatable tightness. It will not come loose and it never needs retying. for the trail runner the advantages are numerous and obvious, easy mirco-adjustment, pressure-free performance and fit, and long-distance comfort.
