K2 The Seth Skis

A weapon designed by Seth Morrison, this pro model is the tool that provides a diverse approach to skiing. Whether it`s raging big mountain lines, the deepest powder, or laps through the park - the new Seth can tackle everything. The Seth gets this versatility using Progressive Sidecut technology with a deeper radius sidecut in the tip and less in the tail. Built for the abuse Seth unleashes, this ski comes with black skull tip and tail rivets, ABS sidewall construction, and thick durable steel edges. Combine all that with a unique graphic for a surreal experience on the snow.

FEATURES:
  • Twin tip
  • Progressive sidecut
  • Triaxial braided core
  • ABS sidewall
  • Tip and tail rivets
  • 3.5 mm steel edges
TORSION BOX CONSTRUCTION -
K2`s Torsion Box construction is their most widely used, yet simplest lay-up. The construction is a triaxially braided wood core ski. Braided Torsion Box skis tend to have lively and energetic characteristics that provide a high degree of rebound and performance. A triaxially braided wood core ski is still the benchmark and K2 continues to use it so widely because of it`s versatility and it`s ability to create so many different kinds of skis depending on the amount of flex and torsion.

WOOD CORE -
For men`s models a fir or fir/aspen core is used for its inherent strength, durability, and energy. A wood core, instead of foam, makes the ski more lively and responsive.

TRIAXIAL BRAIDING -
Triaxial Braiding was introduced by K2 in 1988 and has withstood the test of time to rise to the top as the best torsion box construction process available. The patented and proprietary technology wraps an interlocking fiberglass weave around the ski`s wood core at a 38 degree angle to produce skis that have a great deal of torsional rigidity and strength, while maintaining all the lively characteristics of a wood core ski.

PROGRESSIVE SIDECUT -
Progressive sidecut provides wider waist skis more versatility to be used in all conditions. Using Progressive Sidecut, K2 has found a way to combine these wider-waist skis, with more aggressive sidecuts. Standard sidecut theory is based on the belief that skis were to have a completely radial arc - if you follow the curve of the side of the ski, the tip would match the tail. This works well on narrower-waist skis, but becomes overpowering on wider skis, especially in variable conditions. Progressive sidecut has different curve shapes along different parts of the ski. Starting at the tail, as you move up the length of the ski to the tip, sidecut progressively increases. This results in the confident, quick initiation that is desired for hard snow performance at the tip of the ski through underfoot, but with a more forgiving, less aggressive turn shape from underfoot through the tail, allowing easier release in crud and powder. This ability to respect our history, while keeping an eye on the future, will ensure that K2 traditions get passed on to future generations.
