NORTH FACE Mens Nitrum Boa Winter Boot
Armed for the most difficult winter backcountry hikes, this waterproof, breathable boot is designed with the Boa lacing system that weaves steel laces through a multi-adjustable dial that rotates to easily tighten or loosen and provide a perfect fit. TNF Winter Grip and Ice Pick technologies work in tandem to harden and provide stable footing when the temperature drops. Thermal boot insulated with 400 grams of lightweight PrimaLoft Eco insulation for comfort down to -40° F / C.

HydroSeal
HydroSeal is a highly durable and waterproof laminate that delivers superb moisture protection. This protective layer utilizes a micro-porous, hydrophobic lamination that allows your feet to maintain a comfortable temperature and not retain perspiration. It is also uncommonly tenacious, retaining its waterproof rating longer than many comparable technologies, keeping the wearer dry, warm, and comfortable thoughout the seasons.
Boa Lacing System
The Boa Lacing System provides a unique glove-like fit on performance footwear. The precision Boa reel allows minute and repeatable adjustments to closure force. The replaceable ultra high strength stainless steel lace cables slide easily through the patented elongated lace guides to distribute closure force perfectly and create Dynamic Closure. This unique closure automatically micro- adjusts with foot movement to eliminate pressure points, kind of like a suspension system. The resulting fit is unique and unattainable with shoelaces. Plus the mechanical system never loosens or changes.
PrimaLoft Eco
PrimaLoft Eco is a patented ultrafine microfiber blend that is incredibly soft, lightweight and water repellent, spun from partially recycled materials. PrimaLoft synthetic insulation absorbs three times less water, is 15% warmer when dry and is 24% warmer when wet that the closest competitive insulation. In addition to these impressive thermal properties, PrimaLoft is lightweight with a down-like softness that adds comfort and appeal.
EVA
The acronym for Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate. EVA is used in many footbeds, midsoles and outsoles. EVA provides lightweight, flexible cushioning that is highly impact resistant. EVA also acts as an insulation barrier in cold weather products.
Heal Cradle Technology
As the beginning of every stride cycle, the heel plant is critical. It must help to absorb the forces of body mass, momentum, and torque. Also, it is the first stage in stabilizing the foot plant, setting the tone for the remainder of the stride.
The North Face Heal Cradle utilizes two constructions in providing the precisely correct performance to the outdoor athlete: - In rugged terrain or when the athlete is bearing a moderate to heavy load, Heal Cradle Technology utilizes a polyurethane (PU) foundation. This composition maximizes shock absorption.
- In situations that call for a lighter weight construction and not as much shock absorption, a higher-density EVA replaces PU.
In both cases, the topmost Heal Cradle layer has a slightly cupped shape that literally cradles the heel, helping to stabilize it in the process. Ultimately, Heal Cradle seamlessly offers more lateral/medial stability to the foot, positioning it for a smooth transition into the next stage of the stride cycle.
X-2 Cushioning
Embedded in EVA midsoles and placed in high impact areas, X-2 Cushioning combines durability, lightness and a high ratio of energy return.
TNF Winter Grip
TNF Winter Grip is a softer, tackier rubber compound designed specifically to provide optimum protection in the wettest and slickest winter conditions. When used in conjunction with The North Face winter-specific outsole designs with multidirectional lugs and a substantial contact area, TNF Winter Grip is the ideal ingredient for winter`s snow and ice.
