AIR CUSHION MIDSOLE The patented Merrell Air Cushion Midsole absorbs shock and adds stability. It is found exclusively in Merrell footwear. the air cushion compresses on heel strike to absorb shock up to four times the body`s weight for unmatched support and comfort. In addition, the air cushion creates a pronounced heel cup, which keeps the heel centered in the boot and helps stabilize the foot. In short, it offers the comfort and cushioning of a running shoe, with the stability and control needed for backcountry travel. No bladders or capsules to pop or explode!
VIBRAM Outsole-Multi-Sport To respond to the sometimes wildly varied aims and condition of multi-sport activities soles combine an exceptionally diverse array of design features. On the perimeter, high surface area V-form lugs do the heavy lifting and are siped and channeled for wet conditions. Octogrip tread on the interior stabilize the heel and touch down and provide a launching effect under the toes. A fanned concentration of channeled lugs under the arch flex under pressure for sideways stability in eccentric movements and uneven terrain.
