Thinsulate Lite Loft Insulation
Thinsulate Lite Loft Insulation from 3M features a unique, patented formulation that results in a soft feel and lofty appearance. Yet its light weight makes it more comfortable for both apparel and accessories. A blend of polyester and polyolefin fine denier fibers, Thinsulate Lite Loft insulation retains its insulating ability in damp conditions and dries quickly and easily. It is also hypo-allergenic and machine washable.

Gore-Tex
Gore-Tex fabrics lead the industry in providing durably waterproof / breathable protection. The Gore-Tex membrane is completely impervious to rain, sleet and snow, while allowing perspiration to pass through it. The Gore-Tex membrane is permanently bonded to outerwear shell fabrics. A single square inch of the Gore-Tex membrane contains 9 billion microscopic pores - each pore is 20,000 times smaller than a raindrop but 700 times larger than a molecule of water vapor - so while water can`t pass through the fabric, perspiration can. The North Face uses Gore-Tex fabric in many of its outerwear pieces, not only because of its waterproof / breathable capabilities, but because it is rigorously tested for durability. Abrasion and flexing tests are done in laboratory conditions that exceed even the most extreme weather environments. Original Gore-Tex fabric, available in 2-layer and 3-layer construction, is the technoogy that started it all. 2-layer is lighter weight and softer - ideal for use in sports apparel and streetwear. 3-layer is a heavier duty alternative - ideal for more demanding pursuits or climatic conditions, such as serious backpacking, climbing and mountaineering.

RECCO Reflectors
The RECCO avalanche rescue system is an electronic system, making it possible to quickly locate an avalanche victim. This system does not require battries for operation and consists of two parts: a reflector that is integrated into the garment, and search equipment that is owned and operated by the rescue team at various ski resorts.
