X-Wing Series
Designed for the best skiers on the mountain with new shapes and constructions utilizing a variety of core materials to maximize performance in the WIDEST variety of conditions. X represents overshaped sidecut, which allows for maximum performance on piste. W is for wide, wide body chassis for floatation in all snow conditions. The X Wing systems are designed to utilize all of Salomon`s new performance technologies-Smarttrak, Z concept bindings and all new core constructions-combining to make the ultimate system for skiing in all conditions. X-Wing skis are offered in a variety of chassis widths, ranging from Medium to XXL for performance in all conditions.
Composite Monocoque Single Wall Construction
Monocoque is Salomon`s unique construction process using an external load-bearing structure which transfers power directly from the skier to the edge for greater performance. The Composite Monocoque Single Wall construction provides powerful edge grip and acceleration during the turn with increased edge to edge response.
Isocell Wood Core
Adapted for expert skiers seeking performance and control, the Isocell wood core combines Isocell, an aeronautic technology which dampens and smooths a ski`s ride, with the direct power transmission of wood for balance and stability at speed and excellent rebound characteristics.
Pulse Pad
Pulse pad is a Salomon Technology integrating a new material into ski construction designed to absorb vibration and maximize ski to snow contact. Placed directly over the edge during the construction process of the ski, it absorbs vibration for a smoother ride at speed better than normal construction, keeping ski to snow contact more consistent.
Spaceframe Technology
Spaceframe is the right amount of material in the right place. It began by utilizing three-dimensional shapes to add and remove materials to specific areas of the ski structure, adapting it for specific performance needs. Salomon has expanded upon this concept to include new materials and structures along with the 3D component, enabling to better adapt performance to specific needs.
Z Concept
Salomon`s heritage has always been in performance bindings. With the introduction of the z-concept, they improve lateral rigidity, maintain optimum shock absorption and decrease the overall weight of the system through the use of space age carbon injected components. Versus previous S9 and S8 series bindings, the Z-concept bindings transfer power better and offer better on snow feel while maintaining the same levels of safety.
Titanium Hybrid Material
A titanium blend allows a 20% weight reduction in the binding with no compromise to performace or durability.
Smartrack Binding Interface
The all new Smartrak, Salomon`s new performance interface, is derived from their race proven World Cup ZZ interface. Smartrak offers maximum performance for even the widest skis, optimizing ski flex from tip to tail, providing consistent and balanced pressure distribution and improving edge grip and acceleration. Smartrak also is the widest interface footprint and maximizes performance on the widest skis. Salomon`s unique Smartrak is the only system that offers a constant ramp angle, unlike other interfaces and a la carte bindings, Smartrak ensures proper ramp angle for optimum skier balance. With other set ups, ramp angles vary with boot size, changing the behavior of the system and causing inconsistent performance.
Salomon Control Pedal
Utilizes a gliding AFD that minimizes boot to binding friction and helps give Salomon bindings the highest level edge to edge precision of any binding system.
Vertical Progressive Pivot
Helps the binding manage combined load situations and give the skier the most consistent release and retention characterstics on the market. Allows for a controlled release for backward falls.
Automatic Wing Adjustment
Just by stepping in the bindings wings will automatically adjust to your boot ensuring a safe and correct fit.
