SUMMIT SERIES

EXPEDITION TENTS
Tents from The North Face have become a standard feature of most rugged base camps and campsites around the world. The Expedition tents are designed and constructed to offer the most comfortable, convenient and portable shelters, suitable for any and all weather conditions. Rigorous field and laboratory testing and years of on-mountain experience ensure the expedition tents will continue to lead the pack in this demanding and competitive category.
DRYWELD TECHNOLOGY
Velcro straps, strategic side-release (SR) buckles and tent-pole clips are all joined to the tent flysheets using DryWeld technology, an advanced technology that both prevents leakage and improves flysheet durability. All flysheets are hot-sealed at the seams with polyurethane tape to keep water out.
CONTINUOUS POLE SLEEVES
Continuous pole sleeves stabilize the tent by maximizing contact between pole and canopy. Found on every TNF tent, pole sleeves equally distribute pressure and weight created by high winds and heavy snow over the entire canopy. Compared to clips, pole sleeves prevent point-loading, minimize pole breaks and block spindrift accumulation on top of the tent. This design enables quick and easy pitching in the dark or when the weather is turbulent.
DAC FEATHERLITE POLES
These poles are found in TNFs 4-Season, 3-Season and Ultralight Tents. DAC Featherlite poles are up to 15% lighter than aluminum poles of comparable strength. Plus, these Featherlite poles are less susceptible to failure because pole linkages are based on extrusion instead of glued inserts. Without an extra insert piece, there is less chance of breakage
