The trout streams of New Zealand are well known for their envy inducing large trout. The waters where these famously line shy fish live are some of the clearest conditions that trout anglers can experience anywhere. The challenges of these incredible fisheries inspired one of Airflo's favorite all purpose trout lines in their catalog, the Super-Dri Bandit.

By combining an all purpose taper design with an added extra long rear taper, they developed quite possibly the most versatile trout line. The unique camo color pattern makes the line blend in to the background from the fish's view. The all-purpose front taper design and long rear taper design offer maximum versatility for presenting to skittish trout at all distances.

FEATURES:

  • Tip and Front Taper: The all-purpose front taper design and long rear taper design offer maximum versatility for presenting to skittish trout at all distances
  • Belly: The 24′ belly is short enough for easy management but long enough for moderately long casts when needed
  • Rear Taper: The 20′ rear taper is the longest of any line Airflo makes; keep even the longest presentation casts stable when you're stalking from a distance, and have maximum line control once it's on the water

Climate Control-Ultra Supple
Airflo's Ultra Supple coating represents a major breakthrough in fly line performance. The low modules coating maintains its suppleness even in extreme cold conditions. Thus helping to maintain needle sharp loops and minimal line memory even on the coldest days.

Super-DRI
At Airflo, they are always looking for ways to improve fly line performance. Starting with their patented polymer, their chemists formulated Super-DRI, a new material that repels water, dirt, and surface scum better than any material in the history of fly lines. New advances in Nano Material Technology has allowed us to make a line that floats better and shoots farther than ever before… enter the Super-DRI.

All lines claim to be higher floating than any other, but in Airflo's recovery speed lab test against all other market leading brands, their Super-DRI fly lines had tip recovery speeds faster than any other line, proving that their fly lines have a lower Specific Gravity than any of our competitors in any comparable line size.

Power Core
You'll be more impressed with the lines incredible suppleness and handling performance even in the harshest of conditions. With only 6% stretch, Airflo's Power Core braid improves casting control, sensitivity and hook set.

Ridge Tech
The concept is simplicity itself. Airflo's unique ridged design reduces the lines surface area in contact with the rod guides. Consequently friction levels are vastly improved when compared to other lines on the market. Our ridges are also incredibly tough for long term durability.

100% PVC Free
The original PVC Free Polymer coated fly lines, Airflo utilizes solvent free Polyurethane as the base material in all their fly lines. When they originally researched their coating technology over 20 years ago, they wanted the best possible fly line material available. A coating that would be stronger than their competitors, could resist DEET and ultimately fight off the long term effects of UV. Polyurethane provided them with this and much, much more.

Micro Loop
The ability to fuse Polyurethane post production led to the development of Micro Loops. Showing no visible signs of a step down, Micro loops blend into the main line giving smooth transition to your leader and protect your fly line from the effects of capillary action.

Rigging Tips:

  • Dry Flies: 9′-15′ monofilament or floating PolyLeader + tippet
  • Nymphing: 9′-15′ monofilament or fluorocarbon leader + tippet, strike indicators and added weights can also be used
  • Streamers and Heavy Flies: 4′-8′ monofilament or fluorocarbon leader, typically 4x-1x, depending on line size and fishery, polyLeaders in floating, intermediate or sinking varieties
