All Terrain Rocker
ROCKER: Easy initiation, versatility, agility.
CAMBER: Control, edge hold, rebound.
All-Terrain Rocker features an elevated tip for variable and soft snow performance, as well as camber underfoot for power, energy, and edge-hold in firmer conditions. Simply put, All-Terrain Rocker offers versatility and ease in all snow conditions.
Women's Specific M.O.D.
High-Performance Suspension System Mod functions by absorbing vibrations and impact loads along the entire ski, providing stronger edge-hold and a higher degree of power and control. Mod is a secondary core that flexes and moves on top of the primary core, allowing the overall ski flex to be unaffected.
The optimum location and thickness of mass differs from men to women. The aesthetic look of the Mod shape has also been customized with a softened, more shaped appearance that graphically ties into the design of the skis.
Women's Specific M.O.D. Monic
A Focused Mass-DampenerThe Monic is a solid zinc mass that works in conjunction with the Mod structure to focus mass-dampening at a targeted location.
Although the location for this targeted mass dampening is consistent between K2's men's and women's models, the amount of focused mass is reduced in their women's version. The women's Mod Monic is designed to accent performance speific to the female form.
Bioflex 2 Core
All K2 women's skis use a combination of fir and spruce in a unique core known as BioFlex, a process where a dense fir core underfoot is fused with lightweight spruce at the tip and tail to reduce swing weight. For 2012, K2 has developed three variations of the Bioflex core specifically tuned to a target performance:Bioflex 1 Ð 60% fir and 40% Spruce Ð Swing weight reduction with added forgivenessBioflex 2 Ð 70% fir and 30% Spruce Ð Reduced swing weight with added performanceBioflex 3 Ð 80% fir and 20% Spruce Giving you increased performance, strength, and durability.
Hybritech is a unique blend of sidewall and cap constructions. The construction combines the accuracy, power and performance of sidewall underfoot with the lightweight characteristics and smooth turn initiation of cap construction.
Triaxial Braiding was developed by K2 in 1988 and is still the best way to apply fiberglass to a wood core. This process consists of sending a milled wood core through the patented Triaxial Braiding machine, where interlocking strands of fiberglass wrap the core. This unique method produces skis that have a great deal of torsional or twist rigidity and strength, while maintaining the lively innate flex characteristics of its wood core.
