A burly sheep hunting pant built for racking up vertical in mid to cold conditions, the Sitka GearMen's Timberline Pant has long stood as the alpine hunter's workhorse. The Timberline Pant is a highly technical 4-way stretch polyester spandex pant with double reinforced waterproof/breathable nylon ripstop knees and seat with articulated knee pads that are removable.Read more
Optifade camouflage from GORE is the first and only concealment system ever scientifically designed around the way a hunter's prey views the world. It's the only concealment system to combine a symmetry disrupting macro pattern with the fractal geometry based micro pattern designed to become nothing in the eyes of prey at engagement ranges of 20 meters and beyond.
Sitka waterproof breathable outer layers are originally treated with a Durable Water Repellant finish (DWR), which keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated so that the breathable barrier can do its job. This coating needs to be replenished once per season, or more often if the piece gets a lot of use or washing. If water is no longer beading up on your shell, it's time to retreat it. Make sure to use a spray on our softshell pieces, and a wash-in for 2.5 layer garments, like the Downpour series. Additionally, don't hesitate to treat your Mountain Pants with a DWR spray and watch the water bead off.
In general, washing your gear in cold or warm water with mild non-deoderant powder laundry soap (non-toxic, biodegradable types preferred) and hand drying it are the best ways to clean Sitka products.
Freeze it and then pick it off with a dull object. Rub the remainder out with a water and white vinegar solution and then wash with detergent.
Like most synthetics, Sika Gear will melt or burn when exposed to flames or direct heat. Use caution when around fires, stoves and hot metal surfaces!
Pants were great quality that I expected from Sitka. The shipping was faster than I expected and all at a great price!
these pants are real durable and the solid color works good for hiking or hunting they are kind of heavy so not for early bow season, nice waterproof seat and knees fit was perfect ordered my same jean size
I used these pants extensively on a recent mountain hunt. The reinforced/waterproof knees and butt are a great feature. The knee pads are god when you know you'll need them, but I removed them for long hikes. Bob Wards gave me predictably great customer service - they are always on my list when I'm looking for gear online.
These pants performed flawlessly on a late-season elk hunt. The terrain we were in was brutal, we were in 6-12" of snow depending on elevation, and we had wet snow showers on multiple days. These pants kept me dry, stopped the wind, and were extremely comfortable. I wore the ascent pants during boa season, and wasn't sure how I'd like the knee pads in the Timberline. When it's snowy and your gun hunting, they are a REALLY nice feature. Many times I took a quick knee while still hunting to prepare for a shot. You get none of the cold wet sensation of no risk pants, and you can stay comfortable on a knee for a surprisingly long time waiting for an animal to present itself. These pants were worth every penny (and Bob Wards is my favorite place to buy online).
