Previously offered as our Western/Saltwater/Steelhead Series, we've merged them into what Lefty says are the perfect rods for all anglers and skill levels. These medium fast and progressive action rods are smooth casting and are an incredible value. Traveling anglers can afford to take them as a backup, but often return with a new favorite.Read more
Cosmetics include matte black finished blanks and subtle gold logos. They feature alignment dots color coded by line weight, premium grade cork, and oversized stripper guides. Each rod comes with an attractive logoed rod sock so you can add our optional tube or customized your own.
Modulus is a term that describes the stiffness to weight ratio of the graphite that's used to create the rod blank. When you cast a fly, the rod flexes with the weight of the fly and line, storing energy as it flexes. When the motion of the rod stops, the rod flexes and releases all of its stored energy to propel the fly and line. When the modulus of the graphite is increased, you increase the ability of that graphite to store and release energy. You also increase the speed at which the rod releases the stored energy. That in turn increases the fly and line speed that is generated in the cast.
Standard graphite has a modulus of 33 million, while IM6 graphite has a modulus of 38 million, significantly increasing strength to weight ratios and allowing for a lighter, stronger and more sensitive, or responsive, rod.
Grade AA Cork
Grade AA cork is selected for it's ability to be sanded without leaving holes or crumbling areas, providing high quality grips for Temple Fork Outfitter rods.
