This waterproof, breathable technology utilizes a polyurethane (PU) coating that consists of a tri-component, multi-layer formula for waterproof protection, moisture permeability and durability. It's been lab- and field-tested to ensure the best possible durability and function.
DWR: Durable Water Resistant Finish
To repel moisture many performance fabrics are treated with DWR: a durable water repellent polymer that is applied to the outermost layer. DWR penetrates fibers and lowers the surface tension of the fabric, causing water to bead up and roll off instead of being absorbed.
For nearly 4 decades polyester microfleece has been one of the mainstays of outdoor professional's clothing systems due to it's light weight and it's ability to provide insulative value even when wet, as well as it's superior moisture wicking properties.
