Volkl Volkl Men's Kendo 88 Ski

Style: 119408

Volkl's Kendo with 88 mm middle width shines with an impressive carving-performance due to the three different radius in the sidecut. This special geometry is 100% adjusted to the tip and tail rocker construction. Depending on the rider's speed or edge angle the effective edge becomes longer or shorter and the matching sidecut radius provides hold, maneouverability and smooth running.

DETAILS

Volkl 's Kendo with 88 mm middle width shines with an impressive carving-performance due to the three different radius in the sidecut. This special geometry is 100% adjusted to the tip and tail rocker construction. Depending on the rider's speed or edge angle the effective edge becomes longer or shorter and the matching sidecut radius provides hold, maneouverability and smooth running. On top the Kendo 88 is built with a Titanal Frame and Carbon Tips, providing more stability and dampening. At the same time the middle section of the ski becomes stronger and allows a softer setup. As a result the ski becomes extremely lively and as well as stable even at the highest speeds. A Multilayer woodcore, framed by full sidewalls and a P-Tex 2100 base underneath rounds up the premium construction.

Tip and Tail Rocker
With a slight rocker in the tip and tail, combined with a classic camber profile under the foot, Volkl engineers have created the ideal blend for frontside carving. Easy, smooth turn entry and exit, with acceleration and rebound as well. The new Extended Tip/Tail Rocker features an elongated rocker profile beginning in front of the toe piece and extending toward the tip. A prime example of all elements of ski design coming together, the extension of the rocker allows a stiffer tip flex and more open sidecut radius, promoting stability, turn initiation, and playfulness ALL AT ONCE.

Titanal Frame
More damping and stability over the full length of the ski.

3 Radius Sidecut
Usage of long radii at tip and tail for big turns and high speed:

  • Easy steering and maneuverability
  • Disruption resistant at the tip
  • No radius limitation and ease of turn exit

Usage of shorter radius in the center for short turns and lower speed:

  • Extremely easy to initiate short turns
  • Strikingly agile
  • Effortless and smooth in short turns

Multilayer Woodcore
A multi-layer wood core that features two different densities of wood. In the binding attachment area, a dense ash core is used, while in the rest of the ski, the core is poplar. The more dense wood creates more secure screw retention, preventing binding pull-out, and the soft, supple poplar section allows for resilience and snap. The flex pattern is tailored to each ski model, depending on the desired performance.

Full Sidewall
Direct and strong power transmission with full length sidewalls.

P-Tex 2100
A sintered high-density and high molecular polyethylene base with great gliding characteristics and high durability.

Carbon.Tip
Tip material layup for high reliability/stability at the lighest possible weight.
