Volkl's Kenja 88 shines with an impressive carving performance due to the three different radii in the sidecut. This special geometry is 100% adjusted to the tip and tail rocker construction. Depending on the rider's speed or edge angle the effective edge becomes longer or shorter and the matching sidecut radius provides hold, maneouverability or smooth operation.Read more
Tip and Tail Rocker
With a slight rocker in the tip and tail, combined with a classic camber profile under the foot, Volkl engineers have created the ideal blend for frontside carving. Easy, smooth turn entry and exit, with acceleration and rebound as well. The new Extended Tip/Tail Rocker features an elongated rocker profile beginning in front of the toe piece and extending toward the tip. A prime example of all elements of ski design coming together, the extension of the rocker allows a stiffer tip flex and more open sidecut radius, promoting stability, turn initiation, and playfulness ALL AT ONCE.
More damping and stability over the full length of the ski.
3 Radius Sidecut
Usage of long radii at tip and tail for big turns and high speed:
Usage of shorter radius in the center for short turns and lower speed:
A multi-layer wood core that features two different densities of wood. In the binding attachment area, a dense ash core is used, while in the rest of the ski, the core is poplar. The more dense wood creates more secure screw retention, preventing binding pull-out, and the soft, supple poplar section allows for resilience and snap. The flex pattern is tailored to each ski model, depending on the desired performance.
Direct and strong power transmission with full length sidewalls.
A sintered high-density and high molecular polyethylene base with great gliding characteristics and high durability.
Tip material layup for high reliability/stability at the lighest possible weight.
